I love testing out new products and finding brands that I have never heard of and end up loving them, especially when they are inexpensive. I found this body scrub by Bio Glow in Poundworld over a year ago and decided to give it a go, because after all it’s only a pound. I didn’t have high expectations of it, but it ended up being one of my favourite body scrubs.
I have never heard of the brand ‘Bio Glow’ before and I haven’t really seen it being sold anywhere else except Poundworld. I did a little online search and you can also purchase it from eBay and Amazon, but it ranges from £3-7. The other products by this brand include face scrubs and moisturising creams.
The tub states that the scrub is formulated with Provitamin B5, Aloe Vera and Vitamin E which help to exfoliate dead skin and provide smoothing and nourishing effect to the skin as Provitamin B5 moisturises, regenerates and softens the skin; Aloe Vera hydrates, helps to accelerate skin tissue repair and encourages normal cell growth; and Vitamin E helps to fights the signs of ageing.

I did a little bit of research on the ingredients and none of them are harmful to the skin or body and a lot of them have UV and sun protection properties. The product does contain Provitamin B5 (Panthenol), Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate) and Aloe Vera leaf juice. Unfortunately, the scrub also contains parabens which have been linked to cancer, but using this product twice a week won’t do any harm.
I do find that this scrub makes my skin have a healthy glow and it makes it very soft and moisturised every time I use it. I love this scrub because it is gentle yet effective at removing dead skin cells, because it helped me get rid of ingrown hairs on my arms which I had from waxing. I also love the smell of it, because it smells like bubblegum and I’m a huge fan of sweet and fruity smells. The only bad thing I found about this scrub is the packaging. I don’t mind the clear plastic tub with the white lid, but reading the product description I found a few spelling mistakes and the brand logo is so unappealing (the branding student in me likes to pick on everything). I feel like if they actually upped their packaging game this product could sell for much more than a pound as it really is a great product that works, feels and smells amazing.
At one point Poundworld also sold an Apricot and Rosemary version of this which I’ve also tried and it is pretty much the same as this one, it just has a different scent – more rosemary than apricot, but I prefer this one. I would definitely recommend this product as it works just like most other body scrubs, but is a fraction of the price. I always buy a few tubs when I visit Poundworld as I’m scared that they will stop selling it, so I actually have like 10 tubs in my bathroom at the moment. If you ever see this give it a go, you won’t regret it.
