It’s almost Halloween and I’m so excited! To celebrate I’ve created three Halloween looks inspired by Tim Burton’s poem ‘The girl with many eyes’. I am not the best at makeup, let alone Halloween makeup, but I do believe that practise makes perfect. Therefore, I tried to expand my makeup skills with these looks. I hope you like them as much as I do.
The girl with many eyes look 1
This is actually my favourite look out of the three even though I expected it to be my least favourite. I feel like it’s so simple, yet so creepy. This photo definitely doesn’t do it justice, because in real life it looks much better as the eyes actually move around. It also took me less time than I expected to create this look.
To create this look I just purchased some googly eyes from Amazon (purchase here); applied blue eyeliner on my brows; put on Matte Royal lipstick by Mac; and popped in some coloured contacts to match the lipstick. The base and the eye makeup is actually just my everyday makeup.
The girl with many eyes look 2
I created this look first, because it’s inspired by the illustration accompanied with the poem (see here). This took the longest time to create. Sticking on the eyelashes also took a lot of patience. However, it was worth it, because I really like how it turned out.
To create this look I used the Wolfe Face Art & Fx Essentials palette (purchase here) and some really inexpensive lashes that I purchased from eBay.
The girl with many eyes look 3
This is my horror film kind of look. I was just playing around with some liquid latex and decided to stick some of the googly eyes in my flesh wounds. This look was the quickest and most simple look to create, yet I think it’s still quite effective.
To create this look I just used some spray fake blood, liquid latex and some tissue, googly eyes and coloured contacts.
I hope you’ve found some inspiration from these looks and I’m already looking forward to Halloween next year so I can experiment with more crazy looks.
What are you going to be for Halloween?
